James Closes Office to the Public Because of COVID-19 Concerns
3/16/2020
SENECA – To protect district residents and his employees from coronavirus, Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Butler) announced that his office cannot serve people in person for two weeks, beginning today. Near the end of the month, he will reevaluate the need for a closure to visitors.

Assistance with any state government-related matter will still be available by calling the district office at 814-677-6413 or emailing James at rljames@pahousegop.com.

Many agencies in Harrisburg are operating on skeleton staffing, so services – such as obtaining a birth certificate or renewing a driver’s license – will be delayed until the governor brings employees back.

Veterans outreach hours scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, will still be offered. However, no one else will be granted access to the office.

“My staff and I want to continue being of service to everyone in the district, but we need to be careful how we do it for everyone’s safety. While the Department of Health has not reported any cases in the district as of this morning, we must still operate with an abundance of caution since people can be transmitting COVID-19 even without showing symptoms,” James said.
