HARRISBURG –Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Crawford) will be hosting a shredding event for residents of the 64th District on Saturday, Oct. 12, from noon to 2 p.m. at his district office at 3220 State Route 257 in Seneca.

The event, which will feature an on-site industrial paper shredder, will provide the opportunity for residents to shred up to four large boxes of materials per vehicle. The boxes will be returned to residents.

“This is a great opportunity to shred sensitive personal documents more quickly and efficiently than a home shredder,” said James. “I am grateful to host this event so residents can eliminate any risks of falling victim to stolen identities.”

Items that should be shredded include credit card statements or applications, bank statements, canceled checks, old income tax information, insurance and medical records, and any other documents that contain Social Security, credit card or bank account numbers.

Items that will not be accepted include phonebooks, newspapers and bound books. This event is intended for personal use only. Unfortunately, papers from businesses and organizations will not be accepted.

Shredding services will be provided by Iron Mountain. Registration is not required. Residents who have questions are asked to call the district office at 814-677-6413.
