SENECA – Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Butler) will be hosting a Shredding Event for households of the 64th District on Saturday, Oct. 17, from noon to 2 p.m. at his district office at 3220 State Route 257 in Seneca.
The event, which will feature an on-site industrial paper shredder, will provide the opportunity for residents to shred up to four large boxes of materials per vehicle. The boxes will be returned to residents.
“This is a great opportunity to shred documents with personal information much more quickly than a home shredder allows. The industrial shredder is also better at protecting the information than some home models – don’t take the chance with information that someone could use to steal your identity,” James said.
Residents who are interested in watching their papers be shredded are welcome to do so, but are asked to wear masks.
Paper will not be accepted from businesses or organizations. No newspapers, cardboard or glass can be accepted. Staples and paper clips need not be removed. All shredding takes place on-site, and the event will be held rain or shine.
Shredding services will be provided by Iron Mountain. It is not necessary to register for the event, but residents who have questions are asked to call the district office at 814-677-6413.
