7/17/2024
HARRISBURG – Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Crawford) announced the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) awarded $22 million in grant and low-interest loan funding to a wastewater project in Franklin.

The General Authority of the City of Franklin will use the funding toward completion of the first phase of a three-phase wastewater construction rehabilitation project. Under this plan, 55,000 feet of the existing system will be rehabilitated or replaced.

“I want to extend my congratulations to the City of Franklin on this terrific news,” said James. “This critical funding will ensure our great residents receive the best services available.”

According to James, $16.72 million of the dedicated funding comes in grant form. The remaining $5.28 million is a loan.

Founded in 1988, PENNVEST provides grants and low-interest loans for design, engineering and construction of publicly and privately owned drinking water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as storm water and wastewater projects.
