More than $1 Million Awarded to 64th District, Says James
HARRISBURG – Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Crawford) announced today that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) awarded more than $1 million in grants to projects in the 64th Legislative District.
“I am grateful to see this critical funding dedicated to Venango County,” said James. “Pennsylvanians deserve the best possible services, and these projects will achieve this outcome.”
The first set of funding is from the COVID-19 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to the H2O PA – Water Supply, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Projects Program. Under Act 54 of 2022, the General Assembly appropriated $205.4 million to assist with construction of drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm water projects.
CFA awarded $585,333 to the General Authority of the City of Franklin to purchase and install an emergency generator located in Franklin City.
The second set of funding is from the COVID-19 ARPA funds to the Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program. Under Act 54 of 2022, the General Assembly appropriated $105.6 million to assist with construction, improvement, expansion, rehabilitation or repair of water supply system, sanitary sewer system and storm water system projects.
CFA allocated $423,175 to the Uniontown Heights Municipal Authority to go toward a sewer line replacement project in Sandycreek and French Creek townships.
Finally, the PA Arts and Culture Recovery Program (PACR) was created from COVID-19 ARPA funds to provide grants to nonprofit arts and culture organizations, local arts and culture districts, and arts and culture professionals located in the Commonwealth to ensure the stability and recovery of the Commonwealth’s arts and culture sector from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Franklin Civic Operetta Association was awarded $20,189 for operating expenses for the Barrow-Civic Theatre.
