James Hopes to Combat Identity Theft with Paper Shredder Event
SENECA – State Rep. Lee James (R-Venango) is inviting residents of the 64th Legislative District to join him from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Polk Center, where they can safely dispose of documents with sensitive information that could be used by criminals to engage in identity theft.

“Identity theft is a significant problem in our Commonwealth and across the country,” James said. “We are hosting this event to help local folks protect themselves against the threat posed by identity thieves.”

Residents are encouraged to bring documents that contain sensitive information – such as Social Security numbers, medical information or bank account numbers – to be thoroughly shredded.

“I really can’t thank the good people at the Polk Center enough for agreeing to work with us to host this event,” said James.

There is no cost to attend the event or to have documents shredded.

Participants are asked not to bring newspapers, plastic, glass or metal items. The center will not be able to dispose of these materials for residents.

The Polk Center is located at 1 Lakewood Circle in Polk.

Directions to the Polk Center are available on James’ website at www.RepJames.com by clicking on the “Free Shredder Event” link in the middle at the top of the page.
